In possibly the biggest news this week, Final Fantasy XIV developer Naoki Yoshida announced they were delaying the launch of the upcoming expansion Endwalker for two weeks — until December 7th. Early access will begin on December 3rd. This delay was to ensure the stability of the game to allow additional time for debugging and polish. Revealed alongside this announcement was the full Endwalker launch trailer to give a full expectation of what’s to come. As an expansion, Endwalker is set to deliver tons of all-new content including two new jobs, new areas, new dungeons and raids, and much, much more!
In other expansion news, Lord of the Rings has officially launched its Fate of Gundabad expansion! With the launch of the expansion comes a whole new class: the brawler. The first new class since 2014, this fist fighter inspired by legendary figure Helm Hammerhand brings the pain to their enemies with the new battle gauntlet weapons. Fate of Gundabad comes complete with a level cap increase to 140, all new areas, quests, and dungeons, new legendary weapons, and more.

Players will get access to a whole new map, set in Mexico, and the Yucatan peninsula will never be the same. Alongside the new update comes the season four ranked battle pass, featuring four murderous skins for Rogues. Season four gives players a clean record, so it’s the perfect time for new players to get involved, while Rogue Company veterans will also certainly enjoy the Season Three rewards they’ll have earned. Also be on the lookout for the Rogue Company Epic pack in the Epic Games Store free this week!
Star Trek Online has just launched their Reflections update to both PlayStation and XBox this week. The update sees the return of the feared Captain Leeta played by Deep Space Nine actress Chase Masterson, who suddenly becomes an unexpected ally from the Mirror Universe. This kicks off a multiple-part story arc which will feature the as-of-yet-unnamed Emperor of the Terran Empire. Reflections will give players a whole new ground TFO where you’ll find yourself invading the mirror Earth Space Dock, earning spectacular rewards like the new T6 Mirror Gagarin-class warship!
Speaking of updates, Ylands has launched its 1.8 update to a host of new features! Players will be able to experience larger maps, an all new achievement and title system, a new tutorial for beginners, and new pets. Included also are plenty of quality of life improvements as well as fixes and changes to crafting. The developers are excited as the game is approaching their ideal for what the game’s potential can truly bring.
Next up Paladins launched their Absolution update this week, and with it came the release of its newest champion, Azaan! Wielding a fiery hammer, this angelic hero will certainly lay waste to all who dare oppose him. In addition, the Dark Depths Event Pass has also been released, featuring four aquatic skins and a flying shark mount! Why not? With it comes a new cycle of the super popular Trials of the Realm to complete! And this is the final update of Season four, so make sure to get the rewards before they’re gone.
Switching gears a bit, upcoming mech shooter GALAHAD 3093 launched its third extended open beta test this week. The last piece of news this week is a big one for classic RPG and Star Wars fans alike. Star Wars: The Old Republic has launched on the Nintendo Switch! This much beloved title from BioWare is sure to give old and new fans alike a great deal of joy as you can now take the saga of Darth Revan on the go if you so desire.
As usual, we’ll end with the Epic Games Store free game of the week. This week gives you a standalone version of the amazing and popular Borderlands 2 DLC and I’m talking about Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One Shot Adventure. This is sort of a promo for Wonderlands which comes out next year which I am totally excited for. In this you’ll get to join the Vault Hunters as Tiny Tina guides them through a magical adventure filled with mayhem, and of course, more explosions! I played this DLC with friends when it came out for Borderlands 2 a few years back and ran through it recently as well, Now I’ll probably play through it again simply because its standalone now and free on the Epic game store. Why not!?
But with that said, that’s about it for all the major news and announcements for this week. Be sure to stay safe, and keep your families healthy!
