New Mabinogi Content: Taillteann Town and Alechmy
Nexon, the Folks behind MapleStory, Combat Arms and Dungeon Fighter Online, recently announced a new update to Mabinogi which will introduce a new zone called ‘Taillteann Town’ where players can learn Alchemy!
Mabinogi’s new content update will feature Taillteann Town, a new zone being introduced along with the new Alchemy skill set. At the center of Taillteann, players will be able to socialize and set up personal shops to sell in-game items. In Taillteann, players can also access Taillteann headquarters, where they can acquire Shadow Missions and start new adventures. For Elves and Giants, their headquarter camps are located at opposite ends of the town.
While visiting Taillteann, players looking to improve their Alchemy skills can spend some time at the Alchemist’s House where they can practice and learn alchemy. Marked by the old lady, Dorren, and the Alchemy ovens outside, this house is hard to miss.
Northwest of the town, Stonehenge can be found. These massive stone formations mark the entrance to the Shadow Realm, where all Shadow Missions start. For those seeking to begin their adventures in the Shadow Realm, they should travel here only after acquiring their missions at the headquarters.
Another completely new system being added is the farming system. At the southern part of the town, players can visit the farm manager and rent out a farm, where they can grow their very own crops. At the end of each week, they can harvest the crops and reap the rewards of their hard work.
An Aerial Tour of Taillteann
You’ve heard the rumors. The new Alchemy skill is just around the corner. Are you itching to get started? Or perhaps you’re jumping at the chance to venture into the Shadow Realm and defend Erinn from invaders? Whatever your passion, you first must make your way your way to Taillteann! Here’s how to get there.
Your path to Tailteann depends on where you’re coming from. If you’re near Dunbarton, you’ll want to head northwest toward the Rabbie dungeon. There you’ll find the pathway to Abb Neagh and can make your way on foot. Those who have a flying pet will have a significant advantage — you can just lift off and fly all the way to Taillteann! That’s my plan. I’m going to hop on my trusty Eagle friend, Cirrus, to get to Taillteann. Let me do that now, in fact, and scope out the terrain!
Looks like there’s a new housing district under construction! Perhaps I should save up for my own home?
I see the path you’ll take if you’re on foot. You’ll arrive in Taillteann from the southeast. Farms dot the countryside around there. I hear you can lease a field and grow your own crops. Talk about a Fantasy Life!
I see a few beacon mounds surrounding Taillteann to warn of attackers. What could that be about?
And there! I see Taillteann! I’ve arrived.
From the town square, I can get the lay of the land.
I see a camp of Elves and a camp of Giants on either side of Taillteann. Apparently they’ve set aside their differences to fight against the Fomor army gathering in the Shadow Realm. I wonder how long that alliance will last?
Ooh! In the northern part of town, I can start learning Alchemy!
I see the Alchemist’s House. You can recognize them by the steam ovens and dry ovens outside. Here’s a tip: steam ovens let you create crystals that contain powerful elemental magic. Dry ovens let you fragment objects into useful materials. Alchemist Dorren can help you out if you have other questions. Astone’s throw away is the Taillteann Headquarters, staging ground for the Shadow Missions. Andras will be your guide for that. She also acts as the human ambassador for the Elf-Giant-Human coalition.
Now let’s fly outside town. I want to explore more!
I guess every town needs a graveyard. Taillteann’s graveyard is northeast of the town walls. A bit too creepy for me. I’m out of here.
A Druid’s House? Does that mean Tarlach is here?!
That’s not Tarlach! It’s just some funny-looking old guy. Oh well.
Let me see, not too far from the Druid’s House is Stonehenge, the gateway to the Shadow Realm. Talk about spooky!
East of Taillteann is Sliab Cuilin. Try saying that three times fast — or even just once! You can also get to Taillteann through Sliab Cuilin by way of the Dugald Aisle Logging Camp.
Sliab Cuilin is an important resource for aspiring Alchemists. The Stone Quarry is essential for its supply of rocks, which are used in the “Summon Golem” alchemy skill!
I think Cirrus is getting hungry. Guess that winds up my aerial tour of Taillteann and its surrounding areas. Check it out in person with the release of Mabinogi: Alchemist!
