Reign of Guilds update adds a PvP-free zone, clearer quest markers, and new shirts

Reign of Guilds just rolled out a new update with a mix of quality-of-life changes and a few gameplay tweaks for the free-to-play sandbox “mini-MMORPG.” The headline changes are a new PvP-free area, improved quest tracking, and a new shirt equipment slot with stat bonuses.

The most immediately noticeable change is to quest readability. NPCs now show quest markers that indicate what you can pick up and whether you’ve completed it, and the quest journal uses different icons depending on quest type.

On the gear side, players can now equip shirts, which the developers say have been a long-requested addition. There are two categories: physical shirts that boost HP and magical undershirts that increase MP. They do not have stat requirements, but they do have a maximum level restriction. Shirts can also be enchanted using dedicated recipes, though for now those enchantments are limited to HP and MP bonuses.

The patch also changes Daerkunn into a PvP-free zone. To offset the reduced risk, players in the area will earn 25% less XP.

Other tweaks include resource and progression adjustments. Silk and cotton gathered in the world will now scale in density and quality based on a county’s tier, and Abandoned Mines and Spider Caves (which include Black Zones) now grant a 50% XP buff. Seal Crafting requirements were also adjusted, including increasing stone block requirements to 5 and updating Tier 2 and Tier 3 to require Medium Stone Blocks and Large Stone Blocks, respectively.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Reign of Guilds is a hardcore first person MMORPG inspired by classic MMOs like EverQuest and Ultima Online.
