Mortal Online 2 teases desert continent Sarducca, with new-player access at launch

Star Vault has teased a new Mortal Online 2 region called Sarducca, a large desert continent that will eventually be reachable by the broader playerbase. For its initial launch, though, the studio says only brand-new characters coming from Haven will be able to enter, with the goal of letting new players explore without immediately running into established veterans. For those unfamiliar with Mortal Online 2, the game is inspired by hardcore classic MMORPGs like Ultima Online and has an emphasis on PvP combat.

The details come from the latest “Into the Vault” dev blog, which also outlines several major changes planned for the next patch. Sarducca itself is described as a red-sand desert with cities and valleys, and the team says a few “key aspects” will ship alongside the region, though it hasn’t laid out exactly what those are yet.

Access is where things get interesting. Star Vault says players will be “boated over” to Sarducca, but at launch it’s restricted to new players only. Over time, an in-game construction project called the Bridge of Tekton will slowly be built, and once it’s finished, existing characters will be able to travel there too. The studio also says it’s considering adding an extra character slot so current players can roll a fresh character for Sarducca’s early phase.

On the patch side, the team is aiming to improve proximity voice chat, including how voices fall off at distance and how the audio sits in the environment. A dynamic event system is also in development, starting with basic enemy AI groups spawning in and occupying areas, paired with a simple message pointing players toward where it kicked off.

Finally, trinkets are getting a rebalance meant to narrow the gap between newer players and long-time characters. The studio says it’s boosting the potential of Cuprum/T1 and Silver/T2 trinkets, swapping out trinket skills that aren’t actually available yet, and considering a rename from “Effect Luck” to “Effect Potential.” More details are in the full blog post.
