Broken Ranks dev blog teases Trials of the Lodge tier and reward changes

Whitemoon Games has outlined a new round of potential changes for Broken Ranks’ Trials of the Lodge, with a focus on smoothing out difficulty spikes and making rewards feel fairer across different tiers. The details come from the studio’s January 2026 Trials-focused DevBlog, which leans heavily on player feedback after the Trials update. Broken Ranks is a polish developed isometric MMORPG available on PC with a mobile version in the works.

The biggest shift being discussed is dropping automatic tier advancement. Under the current idea, higher Trial tiers would still unlock, but players could choose when to move up, and even step back down, without losing entries. Whitemoon also says it’s looking at reward scaling tied to character level, including reduced payouts for “overpowered” runs, so the best rewards go to groups pushing content closer to their actual difficulty.

Arena 1 is getting special attention, particularly the Trial of the Masters. The team says it’s considering boosting aithar gains deeper into the run, aimed at rooms only top-end parties are likely to reach.

Solo Trials may also become less punishing. One specific change on the table is capping long stun effects at two rounds, which would cut down on situations where a run can effectively end due to unavoidable crowd control.

Beyond that, Whitemoon mentions a grab bag of balance and quality-of-life work it wants to review, including expanded Infusion use in Arena 2, better buff and debuff balance, XP and PXP adjustments, clearer “Face of Death” rules in Arena 3, more enemy variety, and rankings that better reflect level brackets.

Broken Ranks is free-to-play on PC, with a mobile version still planned but not dated.
