Final Fantasy XIV Is Officially Partnering With Otakon 2026
Final Fantasy XIV will have an official presence at Otakon 2026, with Square Enix bringing panels, autograph sessions, themed attendee badges, and booth activities to the Baltimore convention from July 31 to August 2.
Localization director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, known for his work across Final Fantasy XI, XIV, and XVI, was already confirmed as a guest. He’ll now be joined by global community producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi for several in-person events, according to the official Lodestone post.
- Friday, July 31 at 9:30 p.m. – Adventures in Localization: Koji Fox’s Journey Across FINAL FANTASY XI, XIV, and XVI, with Koji Fox
- Saturday, August 1 at 2:45 p.m. – Duty Finder: Otakon 2026 – A FINAL FANTASY XIV Community Panel, with Koji Fox and Foxclon
- Saturday, August 1 at 4:30 p.m. – From Restaurant Windows to Eorzea, with Kunio Oka, Koji Fox, and Foxclon
- Saturday, August 1 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 at 10:30 a.m. – Autograph sessions with Koji Fox and Foxclon
Square Enix is also partnering with the Embassy of Japan in the USA for giveaways and a photo opportunity at the official booth.
Otakon is bringing back badge choices for 2026, this time with Final Fantasy XIV-themed designs across badge tiers. In a social post, the convention said there will be 10 weekend badge designs, plus two designs each for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday badges, along with Child and Youth badge options.
Otakon is a fan-run convention centered on East Asian pop culture, and Final Fantasy XIV has been no stranger to large community meetups. This one is a more formal tie-in, with official staff on site and dedicated programming across the weekend.
