Zenless Zone Zero 3.1 Launches July 29 With Anniversary Freebies and New S-Rank Agents

Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1, titled “The Long Goodbye,” launches July 29 and doubles as the game’s second anniversary update. HoYoverse is adding two new S-Rank Agents, a permanent mode called Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel, and an Xbox PC version alongside the update.

The big anniversary giveaway is a free limited S-Rank Agent and that Agent’s exclusive W-Engine. Players will be able to pick from Jane, Soldier 0 – Anby, Hugo, Trigger, or Lucia during Version 3.1. The update’s login rewards also include 1,600 Polychromes and 20 pulls.

  • Remielle Dan is the first Lumiflux attribute Agent, arriving as an S-Rank Anomaly character. Her Signal Search channel will run for the full 3.1 update.
  • Sigrid, an S-Rank Ice Attack Agent from the Airspace Patrol Department, debuts in the second half of the version.
  • Aria returns in the first half, while Dialyn, Ukinami Yuzuha, and Asaba Harumasa appear in a selectable rerun channel during the second half.
  • Operation Bagel is a new permanent mode with seasonal updates, shared weekly progress with Hollow Zero, and its own rewards.
  • The summer event Summer Waves Roll In includes beachcombing and souvenir shop management, with Lucy’s Princess on Holiday outfit available for free through the event.

Version 3.1 also adds a Custom Search system. Players can choose six S-Rank Agents from a pool of limited and standard characters, and if they pull a non-rate-up S-Rank, it’ll come from that selected group. W-Engine and A-Rank Signal customization will also be supported, and the choices can be changed later.

Other changes are aimed at smoothing out early progression. The Beginner’s Guide is replacing Proxy Trial, Inter-Knot leveling from 20 to 50 is being sped up, and W-Engines in storage will support batch locking and unlocking.

The update’s story brings major New Eridu factions to the island, introduces Sigrid and Lindverne Sunbringer to the Proxies, and brings Remielle back into focus. HoYoverse is also bringing back its Operation Yum food collaboration, with Kyuramen in the US and Haidilao in Singapore mentioned for themed meals and merchandise.
