WoW Classic Anniversary realms are testing Burning Crusade Phase 2 this week

Blizzard is putting Phase 2 of Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition on the PTR later this week for World of Warcraft Classic. The test includes the next raid tier, with Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep’s The Eye available for players to try ahead of the update.

According to the official post, Blizzard is also testing higher drop rates in several 25-player raids, including Serpentshrine Cavern and The Eye. That loot bump originally didn’t arrive until Phase 3 in the first run of Burning Crusade Classic, but this time it’s being moved up earlier.

That’s the main takeaway here: Phase 2 testing is starting, and Blizzard is making one of the expansion’s later quality-of-life loot changes part of the plan much sooner. If you’re on the Anniversary realms and prepping for the next round of progression, the PTR should give a clearer look at how those raids and reward rates will land.

Blizzard hasn’t shared anything more notable in the source beyond the PTR development notes, so for now this is mostly a heads-up for raiders: the next content phase is entering public testing, and the loot tables are getting adjusted along with it.
