World of Warcraft: Midnight’s Eclipse Update Sets Up The Last Titan

Blizzard used BlizzCon 2026 to outline the next major update for World of Warcraft: Midnight and give players a first tease of The Last Titan, the final expansion in the Worldsoul Saga.

The Midnight update is called Eclipse and is identified as patch 12.2. It sends players into the Worldcore for a direct confrontation with Xal’atath, who is moving closer to Azeroth’s Worldsoul. Blizzard is positioning the patch as the bridge between Midnight’s main conflict and the events that lead into The Last Titan.

The Last Titan will bring the saga back to Northrend, though Blizzard framed it as more than a simple return trip. The studio described it as the closing chapter of a storyline that reaches back across Warcraft history, including major conflicts tied to Ahn’Qiraj, the Frozen Throne, Deathwing, the Burning Legion, and the Shadowlands.

No release date was announced for either Eclipse or The Last Titan during the opening ceremony. Blizzard said more details on The Last Titan will come early next year, after the events of Midnight: Eclipse.

The news applies to modern World of Warcraft and its ongoing Worldsoul Saga roadmap. It’s separate from the World of Warcraft: Forever reveal, which Blizzard also showed during the event.
