World of Tanks update 2.2 targets crew QoL, while War Thunder’s Ninth Wave adds new aircraft and ships

World of Tanks and War Thunder both have major updates on the way, and they’re headed in pretty different directions. World of Tanks update 2.2 is largely about quality-of-life changes, while War Thunder’s upcoming Ninth Wave patch leans hard into new vehicles and a few map and tech tree tweaks.

On the World of Tanks side, update 2.2 puts a spotlight on crew management. Wargaming is adding new crew perks and making broader improvements to how crews are handled, alongside an updated armor inspector. The patch also includes balance changes for the Ares line of tanks, plus changes to the WoT Plus subscription program.

WoT Plus is getting adjusted into two subscription tiers, with benefits split accordingly. One of the mentioned perks is exclusive access to a Tier VIII tank, depending on which tier you’re on. If you want the details straight from Wargaming, they’re outlined in the WoT Plus guide. The update also brings back 7v7 Maneuvers in late March.

Over in War Thunder, Ninth Wave is mostly about expanding the garage. Gaijin is adding new Rank IX aircraft, including an F-16 addition, plus a Dutch jet tied to a new event. There are also two Hungarian aircraft on the way and a new American destroyer, USS Helm.

Beyond the new hardware, Ninth Wave includes updates to two maps (Ardennes is getting changes, and White Rock Fortress is returning), a new batch of Pages of History tasks, and a reshuffle of the U.S. ground vehicle research tree.
