Where Winds Meet Passes 100 Million Players, Hidden Mountain Finale Set for September

NetEase Games and Everstone Studio say Where Winds Meet has now passed 100 million players worldwide. The studio also confirmed that Hidden Mountain Chapter 3, the final part of the current Hidden Mountain storyline, will launch on September 16.

The update wraps up the arc around Qianye, the antagonist tied to the destruction of the player’s home and the events that kicked off the story. Alongside the finale, Chapter 3 will add two special bosses, two open-world field bosses, and new activities.

Before that, a new martial arts set called Bamboo Cut: Draught is scheduled for September 3. NetEase says the style is inspired by Jackie Chan’s Drunken Master, with a focus on uneven, fluid movement and heavy strikes. The game has also brought on martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping as its global action consultant, following earlier work with action director Stephen Tung Wai.

There’s more on the way beyond the story chapter. An Extraction Mode is coming at a later date, though the announcement doesn’t give a release window. The mode will let players fight, sneak, use disguises, and loot treasure, framed through the game’s wuxia setting.

Players can also take part in the current Ghost Month event, which leans into Chinese folk traditions and horror themes for a darker side of Jianghu.
