Dune: Awakening Gets PS5 Gameplay, Film DLC, and Post-Launch Cross-Play

Funcom showed new PlayStation 5 gameplay for Dune: Awakening during Gamescom, giving console players a first proper look at how the survival MMO is running ahead of its September 22 launch on PS5 and Xbox.

The studio also confirmed that PC and console cross-play is planned, but it won’t be ready on day one. Funcom only says the feature is coming sometime after launch.

A new DLC pack, Filmic Archive, is also set for September 22 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. It adds outfits based on Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, along with Sardaukar armor sets and new base-building pieces. Funcom says a full reveal trailer will air during the Xbox Broadcast tomorrow.

Dune: Awakening launched on PC in June 2025. The September console release will also bring the previously announced single-player mode, the story conclusion, and other additions. Funcom recently outlined those changes in an official post, alongside a longer Deep Dive video.
