Sea of Remnants Closed Beta Set for December 2026
NetEase Games and Joker Studio say Sea of Remnants will enter closed beta testing in December 2026. The free-to-play ocean-fantasy RPG also got a new trailer during gamescom Opening Night Live, with pre-registration now open through the game’s official site.
Sea of Remnants is in development for Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android. No exact closed beta date was given, and the studios haven’t detailed which platforms will be included in the test yet.
The game casts players as a memory-lost “puppetfolk” sailor exploring Orbtopia, a busy hub city, and a wider archipelago full of islands and encounters. The latest trailer focuses on the game’s main loop: set sail, explore, collect what you can, then return.
NetEase describes each voyage as a replayable roguelike-style run through an open world. Enemy layouts, bosses, possible crewmates, gear, skills, and upgrades can change between expeditions, so players are meant to adjust their crew and combat setup as they go.
Combat includes turn-based fights on land and naval encounters at sea, with side activities and minigames mixed into exploration. Pre-registration is available now at seaofremnants.com.
