Where Winds Meet Adds Imperial Palace Expansion and Brings In Yuen Woo-ping as Action Consultant
Where Winds Meet has launched its Imperial Palace expansion on PC and PlayStation 5, adding a large new Kaifeng Imperial Palace area, new campaigns, side activities, bosses, and more hidden spaces to poke around in.
Everstone Studio also announced that martial arts choreographer and director Yuen Woo-ping is now the game’s global action consultant. His credits include The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and Kill Bill, and he’ll be working with the studio on martial arts choreography and motion capture for future updates.
The new palace map covers more than a million square meters, according to the official post. Players can move through more public areas, work under cover within the court’s intelligence agency, and find places they probably aren’t meant to be. The update also teases smaller interactions like sitting on the throne, staging a jailbreak, or sampling royal meals.
Imperial Palace also adds activities such as cricket fighting and ice frolicking, along with new story content tied to court politics and the dynasty’s power structure. New world bosses include the Cat Emperor and Gilded Lament.
More content is already planned. A Dragon Boat festival is set for next month, and Everstone says two new multiplayer campaigns are also on the way. The studio is also working on additional martial arts styles, including Drunken Boxing, Spear, and Staff, with Yuen Woo-ping and the Yuen Clan involved in bringing those combat styles into the game.
