Ragnarok Origin: Classic Closed Beta Starts June 4 With 3,000 Slots
Ragnarok Origin: Classic is getting a closed beta test on June 4, with Gravity Game Vision opening dedicated servers for players in North and South America. The test is planned to run for two weeks, and sign-ups are limited to 3,000 players.
The mobile MMORPG is headed to iOS and Android, building on the long-running Ragnarok Online formula with anime-style visuals, multiple jobs, stat allocation, cards, and 2nd Job Progression. The launch version is set to include six classic jobs.
Gravity Game Vision is also pitching this version around less aggressive monetization than some mobile MMOs. According to the studio’s materials, Ragnarok Origin: Classic won’t use gacha systems, and cosmetics won’t carry stat bonuses. The game will instead offer a Monthly Pass with $5 and $15 tiers, though the pass can also be unlocked with in-game Gold Coin currency.
Gear upgrades, Rare Cards, and other progression items are said to come from regular play, including farming, dungeons, and boss fights. That’s the key claim here, since Ragnarok games have long leaned on build tinkering and card hunting as part of their grind.
Players who want into the June 4 closed beta can apply through the registration page. The source doesn’t list a full release date for North or South America yet.
