Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Details June Anniversary Event and Sonic Birthday Bonuses
Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis is lining up a busy June, with Sega outlining the game’s 5th anniversary event, a new quest type, fresh weapon updates, and a Sonic birthday campaign during its latest NGS Headline WAVE.
The Shin Super Origin Festival starts June 3. Central City and Region Mags will get seasonal decorations, Ceremo Rappy and Ceremo Emperappy will appear around Halpha, and Xitre returns as the event navigator in a wedding dress. Players can take on her requests and spend Seasonal Points on rewards including the Anga Phandaj Mask accessory and new Build Parts like Hydrangea Plant B and Bridal Confection B.
The event also adds the Shin Super Origin Festival ’26 SP Scratch, with tickets available through limited-time quests, tasks, and the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop. Rewards include the Tzvia Almati CV2 and Resurgir Almati CV2 weapon camos, along with items like TA Customization Disc X/Omni, N-Master Cubes, and Arms Refiner II from event tasks.
June 3 also brings a new quest type called Realm Investigation: Ruins. These quests take place in areas tied to the Dimensional Rift, with no time limit. Players defeat enemies, clear trials, earn Exploration Points, and spend those points on boosts from devices inside the quest. New trials include Hunt Rally, Rare Enemy Infestation, and Grim Monolith Purge, while the new boss Ruine Shraider Λ joins the enemy roster.
The new 15-star Granillusion weapon series will be available as a rare reward from Realm Investigation: Ruins. These weapons can drop at enhancement level +100 with eight augments already attached, and may include Fixa Termina Lv.5 for Gunblades or Fixa Blastor Lv.5 for other weapon types. Granillusion weapons also support Augment Transfer without an N-Augment Transfer Pass when used as material, similar to the Klirodim series.
Players will also get more Tech Arts Customization options on June 3, covering Swords, Twin Daggers, Katana, Soaring Blades, Assault Rifles, Twin Machine Guns, Talises, Wands, Harmonizers, and Lightning Techniques.
Sonic’s 35th birthday celebration begins June 23. Players who enter “SONIC_35th_Anniv.” in-game will receive 35 Sonic Collab SP Scratch Tickets, and rare drop rates will be boosted by 350%. Special Training: Sonic Sprint 2 and Special Training: Shadow Sprint 2 will return on a daily rotation with adjusted enemies and levels, sending players across Halpha to collect Rings and Chaos Emeralds for Quest Points.
