Where Winds Meet adds Hexi Chapter 2, Liangzhou, on April 2

Where Winds Meet is getting the next part of its Hexi expansion on April 2 UTC. Everstone Studio says Chapter 2, called Liangzhou, picks up after Jade Gate Pass and moves players from the desert into a new snowy frontier region with fortified towns, more story content, a new sect, and another weapon style.

Liangzhou is the second of three Hexi chapters. The big addition here is a new map area, but it also brings two new storylines, “Liangzhou Melody” and “Paper Moon,” plus fresh boss fights and a new campaign called “Death of Governor.”

The update also adds the Raging Tides sect, which is described as a group shaped by military service, and the Heng Blade weapon. Everstone says the Heng Blade focuses on a deflect-and-counter playstyle and forms a new martial arts path called Stonesplit Strength alongside the heavier Mo Blade.

On the PvE side, Liangzhou includes a siege-themed encounter at Dasan Pass against a boss called Town Gate Roar, along with several world bosses in the new region. Those include Moongazing Maiden, Everdeer, and Pocketrupt Circus.

One other detail to watch: the studio says Liangzhou will shift into a different phase after a key story event, changing how the region plays for exploration and combat. It hasn’t shared much beyond that yet, but it sounds like more than a simple map unlock.

Where Winds Meet is an open-world wuxia action RPG, and Hexi is being rolled out as a three-chapter expansion. Liangzhou arrives April 2 UTC as the second chapter. This game remains incredibly popular, peaking at over 42,000 concurrent players on Steam in the last 24 hours.
