Ultima Online tests Publish 123 with new Spritelight event and PvP changes

Ultima Online has started testing Publish 123 on TC1, and the headline addition is a new recurring seasonal event called Spritelight. According to the official post, the update is planned for later this spring, with Spritelight set to run each year and its first run ending on July 1.

Spritelight has players roaming the world for magical mushrooms, then identifying and either turning them in for rewards or preserving them as decorations. The event also adds truffle resources, truffle hogs, new mushroom-related tools and craftables across several crafting lines, plus titles and wearable rewards. One notable prize is grass tiles, which have been relatively hard to get.

Publish 123 isn’t just an event patch. The current test build also adds new wooden weapons for skill lines that were missing solid options, a PvP balance pass, and an expanded Harrower encounter. PvP players are also getting a new Spoils of War currency system.

Elsewhere, Broadsword is expanding Cleanup Britannia turn-ins and rolling in a handful of UI and menu fixes. More specifics are laid out in the patch notes.

As usual for UO, this one will likely spend some time on the test server before moving to production shards in stages, so players who want to try the changes early have some room to do that.
