Elder Scrolls Online details Update 50 PvP progression and teases Season One features

The Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 50 is set to arrive June 8, and Zenimax used its latest livestream to show off one of the bigger additions: a new PvP progression track called veterancy. The system is free, account-wide, and levels up through alliance points and XP earned in activities like Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds.

Veterancy comes with PvP-focused rewards including armor and weapon styles, ability styles, titles, and vengeance perks. Those perks stop at rank 33, with the rewards meant to be front-loaded rather than stretched too far out.

According to the livestream, the studio also gave another look at Season One content that was first outlined back in March. That includes a Thieves Guild storyline, an upgradeable mythic talisman tied to the original Thieves Guild questline, a reworked daily mission system now built around NPC-specific “favors,” and a separate set of six Sheogorath quests.

A couple of newer features were shown as well. Season One is set to add multi-stage dynamic world events and a clue-based scavenger hunt system called rumors. Some of that content is expected to hit the PTS on Monday, April 13.

There are also a few changes coming to Tamriel Tomes in Update 50. In an official post, Zenimax said unused points will carry over to the next tome up to a cap of 2,000. Anything above that limit will be spent automatically. Update 50 will also add weekly challenge rerolls for gold, repeatable weekly challenges for players who have reached a tome’s bonus pages, plus some UI updates and bug fixes.

So the short version is pretty straightforward: Update 50 brings a new long-term PvP reward track in June, while Season One keeps pushing ESO toward more rotating, activity-driven content on the test server first.
