RuneScape Refreshes Waterbirth Island and Patches Avatar Issues

RuneScape’s latest patch gives Waterbirth Island a visual refresh, continuing Jagex’s ongoing work to bring older areas closer to the game’s newer look. The island now has sharper scenery, more environmental detail, extra trees, fresh snow, and a generally cleaner presentation.

Jagex showed before-and-after images in the official update post, and the changes are easy to spot. It’s not a gameplay overhaul, but it should make the trip out there feel less dated for players sailing over.

The patch also includes more fixes for the recently released player avatar rework. Since the update went live, Jagex has been working through player-reported issues tied to animations, cosmetics, clipping, and older gear interacting oddly with the new avatar models.

Some of this week’s fixes target facial expressions when using parasols, the shrug emote stretching shoulders too much, clipping with the comb over hairstyle, and the Ghostly Hood not showing the updated avatar head correctly.

Jagex also made a few fixes tied to Moonrise, the new digsite added in last week’s update. Players looking for the full list of smaller changes will want to check the latest patch notes.
