Old School RuneScape’s Deadman All Stars Finale Draws Record Crowd in Chicago

Old School RuneScape held its Deadman All Stars Season 3 finale live at the Rosemont Theatre near Chicago, bringing Jagex’s long-running MMO to a U.S. stage for the first time. The event drew more than 4,500 fans in person, making it the largest RuneScape event Jagex has hosted, ahead of last year’s RuneFest.

The finale capped off a nine-day prep period where invited content creators built up characters on a private Deadman world before meeting in a PvP showdown. Team Dino Nuggets won this season.

Deadman All Stars started as a creator-led idea from Solo Mission, with Jagex helping by providing the private world and event support. The format has since become one of Old School RuneScape’s bigger community spectacles, mixing high-stakes PvP with creator rivalries that fans clearly showed up for.

The live audience wasn’t the only big number. Jagex said more than 1 million people watched the event unfold on Twitch across the day. The main broadcast reportedly hovered near 90,000 viewers at points, while competitor Odablock’s own Kick stream pulled more than 100,000 viewers during the event.

Jagex hasn’t confirmed whether Deadman All Stars will return to North America for another live finale, but the Chicago show gives the studio a strong case to consider it. For a game built around polls, community trust, and a very active creator scene, this was a pretty clear reminder that Old School RuneScape still has serious pull more than a decade after its launch.
