Path of Exile 2 Full Release Set for December 11 as Free-to-Play Launch

Path of Exile 2 will leave its current phase and fully launch as a free-to-play game on December 11 PST, according to Grinding Gear Games’ latest promotion details. Players can register ahead of launch to receive in-game microtransaction rewards, and the offer is open to both new and existing players.

Signing up doesn’t require a Path of Exile account right away. Players only need to enter an email address and confirm the subscription email. After Path of Exile 2 fully launches, Grinding Gear Games says it will start sending out microtransaction codes to successful registrants.

A Path of Exile account will be required to redeem the code once it arrives. The email used for registration does not need to match the one tied to a Path of Exile account, and codes can be redeemed on any valid account, but only once. Players can also give their code to someone else if they want.

The reward includes at least one microtransaction, with more unlocking through community registration milestones. If all four milestones are reached, registered players will receive five microtransactions total. Grinding Gear Games says these items are exclusive to the promotion and won’t be sold in the store.

The promotion applies across eligible platforms, including Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox. Console and storefront players will need to make sure their Path of Exile account is linked through the account connections page before redeeming rewards.

Grinding Gear Games also notes that registering means opting into direct marketing emails for Path of Exile 2, with an unsubscribe option included in those emails.
