Path of Exile 2 Free Weekend Starts May 29 Alongside Return of the Ancients

Path of Exile 2 is getting a free weekend from May 29 to June 1 PST, giving players a chance to try its latest expansion, Return of the Ancients, without buying into early access first. The free weekend is listed for PC, Steam, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store.

Grinding Gear Games is also putting the Path of Exile 2 Early Access Supporter Pack on sale from May 29 to June 12. During that window, it’ll be 50% off and includes full game access plus 150 points for the in-game store. The source also points players to PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store pages for more details, though PlayStation isn’t mentioned for the free weekend itself.

Return of the Ancients adds the Runes of Aldur challenge league, where players can complete eight in-game challenges to earn part of the Knight of Aldur Armor Set and a Hideout totem decoration. Those rewards are cosmetic only.

The expansion also brings a reworked endgame, new Unique items, expanded crafting, and a redesigned Atlas Tree. Two new Ascendancy classes are included too: Martial Artist and Spirit Walker. Other additions include a Build Planner, campaign replayability improvements, and various quality-of-life changes.

There’s also a Discord Quest tied to the event. From May 29 at 10 AM PDT through June 5 at 5 PM PDT, players can accept the quest in Discord and play Path of Exile 2 for 15 minutes to earn the Runeseeker Avatar Decoration. Progress tracking requires the Discord desktop app.

More details are available on the official update page.
