Embers Adrift Adds a New Forgotten Depths Challenge and Teases June Plans
Stormhaven Studios has rolled out a smaller monthly update for Embers Adrift (the buy to play MMORPG), with the headline addition being a new instanced world boss challenge in Forgotten Depths. Players can now take on the large Mire there, provided they find the key to its cage and bring some friends along.
One note before jumping in: the challenge prep timer is currently set to 30 seconds by mistake. According to the patch notes, that’s being corrected to the intended one-minute timer next week.
The update also brings a batch of fixes and smaller improvements across the game:
- Item links should now work properly when an item name includes a comma.
- A Northreach task issue that incorrectly told players “you do not have that task” has been fixed.
- Several text errors were cleaned up.
- MacOS skybox issues were addressed.
- Arrows and bolt projectiles now appear for auto attacks.
- A new Ember Ring has been added on Redshore Island.
That Redshore Island addition is tied to what’s coming next. Stormhaven says June will bring another new challenge in that area, though the bluffs will stay off limits until the challenge is ready.
The studio is also looking at short-term inventory help while longer-term systems are still in development. One option being discussed is a gathering bank in the city that works similarly to the gathering bag, along with the ability to craft in the city using materials stored there. Guild banks are also still in the works, but Stormhaven says there are issues to solve before they hit QA.
Further out, the team says it’s working on two water-related activities, but there’s no release window for those yet.
