Nexon opens MapleStory-themed Maple Island at Lotte World in Seoul

Nexon has opened a MapleStory-themed area called Maple Island at Lotte World Adventure in Seoul, South Korea. The attraction is based on the long-running MMORPG and sits in the park’s outdoor section.

According to the official site, Maple Island includes four attractions along with themed merchandise, food, and drinks. Nexon and Lotte World are also running a MapleStory in Lotte World festival through June 14, with parades, projection mapping, and park decorations tied to the game.

This is more of a real-world brand expansion than a game update, but it’s a notable one for MapleStory fans, especially in Korea. MapleStory has been around for more than two decades, and Nexon has spent the last several years pushing the series beyond the PC MMO itself through spinoffs, collaborations, and other events.
