Neverwinter Module 34 Targets Mid-November, Tabaxi and Druid Teased

Cryptic laid out the next major update for Neverwinter during its Neverwinter Next showcase, with Module 34, Biting Cold: Sleeping Gods Lie, currently aiming for a full launch in mid-November.

The module is set to add The Reghed Crevasse as a new adventure zone, The Defense of the Mythallar as a new skirmish, and The Devourer’s Pit as a new trial where players face Grathmok the Devourer. Cryptic is targeting October 17 for the module preview, with the skirmish and trial planned for testing around the weekend of October 30.

The Reghed Crevasse will also have its own zone mechanic. While players are in the area, a bar fills until it hands out a quest pointing them toward a rift. That rift can offer an optional “influence,” which sounds like a tradeoff buff, such as extra damage paired with reduced health. If players take it, they’ll have five minutes to clear objectives, earn a related currency, and follow a quest item into a zone boss fight for up to three players.

Cryptic also showed Ascendant Mode, a weekly optional challenge mode that the studio described as intentionally unfair and experimental. The pitch is simple enough: harder, nastier fights, with stronger rewards for groups that can clear them.

Other items shown during the stream included a new mount preview, artifact armor, queue reward improvements, and experimental graphics updates. Cryptic also closed the showcase with a teaser confirming that the Tabaxi race and Druid class are in development, though it didn’t share timing or gameplay details for either one.

For players looking for something to do right now, the Harvester of Nightmares Halloween event is back until October 22. The event appears to be returning in its familiar form, with players fighting the nightmare-feeding creature and earning its usual seasonal rewards.
