RuneScape’s Plugin Hub beta is live with Quest Helper and four other plugins
Jagex has launched the RuneScape API Plugin Hub beta, letting players try community-made plugins in beta worlds starting today. The first batch includes five plugins, headlined by Quest Helper, which currently supports 69 quests.
The Plugin Hub is built into the game interface and lets players browse, install, manage, and report issues with plugins. Once installed, a plugin still needs to be enabled through the Manage tab. Players can find the Hub through the Ribbon menu by looking for the toolbox icon.
- Quest Helper
- Menu Entry Swapper
- Tilemarkers
- Entity Hider
- Job Gauges
Jagex says it’s starting with a small selection so it can test the system before adding more. Additional plugins are already in development or under review, with the next batch planned for the coming weeks.
The API itself isn’t public yet. For now, RuneScape’s plugin work is still in beta with selected community developers, but Jagex says plugin development is planned to open to everyone in October. Even then, submitted plugins will still need to go through moderation before appearing in the Hub.
There are a couple of limits at launch. Plugins aren’t available on mobile yet, with support planned for later once Jagex is more confident in the system. The Plugin Hub is also launching in English only for now.
Quest Helper is being developed by Zoinkwiz, Techpure, and JosTheFarmer, and its current focus is early-game quests. More quest support is expected later, though Jagex is also reminding players that these plugins are community-led projects, so updates and fixes will depend on the developers behind each one.
