MU Online adds Tauros Guardian and limited-time event boosts

MU Online has rolled out a new update that adds Tauros, the game’s seventh Guardian, along with a new EXP Recovery Potion and a batch of limited-time events. The event period runs through April 7, according to the official update page.

Tauros is a new battle companion that players can craft using the Seal of Tauros. On the utility side, the update also adds an EXP Recovery Potion, which restores experience lost after dying while hunting monsters. Webzen says players can still recover death penalty EXP once per day for free, whether they use the potion or not.

Most of the rest of the update is focused on event bonuses. In the Swamp of Destruction Elite Zone, special item drop rates are up and monster difficulty has been reduced by 20 percent for the event window. Several other activities are also paying out double rewards, including Maze of Dimensions, Chaos Castle, Blood Castle, Devil Square, and Group Boss Battle. Monster EXP has been boosted as well.

  • Gemstone Drop Event
  • Guardian Upgrade Stone Moss Drop UP Event
  • Mount & Extract Seed Sphere Event
  • Fruit Decrease Stat Reset Event
  • Dimensional Roulette Event with rewards like Gold Channel Ticket, Master Seal of Ascension, and Bless of Light

Webzen is also running limited-time Bonus WCoin promotions and Guardian Capsule sales tied to the update. Those include chances to get newer Guardians such as Tauros and Leviathan.

MU Online is one of the older PC MMORPGs still running, and this update mostly sticks to that familiar formula: a new power item, some catch-up help, and a stack of timed reward events to keep players grinding. The game remains popular on both the official service and across private servers.
