Riftbound’s Unleashed set adds Kha’Zix, Lillia, Diana, and Ivern in April and May
Riot has shared the first details for Unleashed, the third set for Riftbound: The League of Legends Trading Card Game. It launches in China on April 10, with the English release following on May 8.
Unleashed adds more than 220 cards, along with over 30 alternate-art cards. The headline additions are four new Champion Legends: Kha’Zix, Lillia, Diana, and Ivern. Riot also says local game stores will host a Pre-Rift early access sealed event ahead of release, starting April 3 in China and May 1 for the English launch.
The set introduces three new mechanics. Ambush lets players play certain cards as a reaction during a battlefield where they already have units in play. XP is a new resource that can be built up and spent, and some cards scale with your current Level based on how much XP you’ve earned. Hunt ties into that system by granting XP when those cards help conquer or hold a battlefield.
Unleashed also brings in several new token types, including Baron Pit, Birds, Reflections, and Sprites. Riot says the set will include a new Ultimate rarity as well, with cards in that tier showing up in less than one percent of packs. For Unleashed, the only Ultimate Rare is Baron Nashor.
On the organized play side, Summoner Skirmish windows for the set open May 25 and June 22. Those are constructed 1v1 tournaments tied to Regional Qualifier spots and promo rewards.
Riftbound is Riot’s physical TCG based on League of Legends, built around champion-led decks and battlefield control. If you’re waiting on the English version of Unleashed, the first chance to try it looks to be the May 1 Pre-Rift events at local stores.
