MapleStory Classic World Test Stats Show Magicians on Top, Another Test Planned
Nexon has shared a post-test breakdown for the recent MapleStory Classic World Closed Online Test, and players got a lot done in a short window. According to the official post, participants used 9,912,979 consumables, defeated 1,122 bosses, and cleared King Slime more than 5,000 times.
Magicians were the most popular class by a wide margin, making up 39% of players in the test. Thieves followed at 28%, with Warriors at 20% and Bowmen at 13%. Nexon also said more than 80 players reached the level 50 cap, which Chief Product Officer Hanbyeol Oh, known to players as Inkwell, said was higher than the team expected.
The update also touched on what’s next for MapleStory Classic World. Nexon is looking at combat and job balance, more original content that still fits the older MapleStory style, world expansion, controller support, macOS support, and additional language options.
One more test phase is planned before launch, though Nexon hasn’t announced dates yet. The project is built around bringing back the early MapleStory feel while making enough changes to work for current players, so the next test should give a clearer idea of how close Nexon is getting to that balance.
