LOTRO tests Update 48 with Rivendell housing, plugin UI scaling, and Umbar’s final zone

Lord of the Rings Online’s next big patch is now on the Bullroarer test server. Update 48, called A Glorious Hunt, includes a new Rivendell housing neighborhood, plugin support for UI scaling, and Pahar Hatokáli, the final zone in Umbar.

According to the official post, the new housing area is called Rivendell Steadings and sits in the mountains west of Imladris. Pahar Hatokáli, meanwhile, is described as the Hatokáli Fells on the southern slope of Mûr Ghala and includes 30 side quests.

One of the more practical changes in the test build is support for UI scaling in plugins. That should matter most to players using LOTRO’s long-running addon ecosystem, especially on higher-resolution displays where the base interface can get awkward.

Standing Stone is also rolling out a smaller live update today. Update 47.3 adds the April Fool’s Chicken Run event and Tier 3 difficulty for the Folly of Nagakhêdi raid, based on the downtime notice.

No release date for Update 48 was included here beyond its Bullroarer test appearance, so for now this is a preview of what’s coming rather than a live launch.
