LOTRO Delays Planned Multi-Month Subscription Price Increase

Standing Stone Games has delayed its planned price increase for Lord of the Rings Online’s multi-month subscription plans. The higher prices were previously set to take effect on July 1, but the studio now says the change has been pushed back by at least four to six weeks.

The delay affects the three-month, six-month, and 12-month subscription options. SSG said it needs more testing time because the change involves several components and teams, including a Daybreak-wide store team that’s also supporting other game launches.

For now, current pricing remains in place while the studio finishes that work. SSG hasn’t given a new exact date for when the subscription increase will go live.

Separately, LOTRO’s Update 48.8 is out today, with more work on the Pagru-kirít, Garden of Corpses instance and a new deed tied to it.
