Lost Ark’s Guardian’s Rage update lands February 4 with the new Guardianknight and big progression changes

Lost Ark is rolling out its Guardian’s Rage update on February 4. The patch adds the new Guardianknight class, kicks off the game’s fourth anniversary event line, and makes some sweeping changes to progression systems, including gear honing adjustments and a new Milestone Missions track.

The Guardianknight was previously revealed on the roadmap as “Dragon Knight,” but Smilegate and Amazon are now leaning into a lore-based rename. In terms of gameplay, she fights with a large halberd and builds up an Embereth Orb gauge by landing attacks. That resource powers up “manifestation” skills and eventually lets the class enter an Incarnation state, which changes how her skills behave and boosts mobility.

On the systems side, the update removes the gear honing system for content up through lower Ancient Gear in Tier 3 and below, with some related honing costs also getting reduced.

Milestone Missions are also being added as a replacement for several existing task systems, including Una’s Tasks, Mokoko Challenges, roster missions, and Growth Missions. The new setup has eight stages tied to item level, offers guidance up to item level 1700, resets weekly, and rewards points you can cash in for growth items you choose.

There’s also an overhaul coming to the Skill Recommendation system. It’s set to suggest skills, gems, engravings, and Ark passives, plus show frequently used builds by content type. Sharing builds via generated codes is planned for a later update.

Amazon also previewed a handful of quality-of-life tweaks and said a small fourth anniversary quest will arrive as part of this patch, with more anniversary content expected later in the month. Some of the QoL items mentioned include bulk options for quality upgrades, honing, karma upgrades, and smarter ability stone faceting. More specifics are expected when patch notes arrive closer to launch, and Amazon’s preview is up in the official post.
