Guild Wars Reforged is coming to iOS and Android this summer

ArenaNet is bringing Guild Wars Reforged to mobile this summer, with versions planned for both iOS and Android. The mobile release will support cross-progression, so existing players can log into their ArenaNet account and keep using the same characters and purchases across PC and phone.

The basic mobile client will be free and ad-supported, but it only includes the Prophecies campaign. Paid campaign add-ons remove ads and unlock account syncing features like chat, trading, and cross-device progress for new mobile users who start there.

  • Prophecies will be available free on mobile with ads.
  • Each campaign, including Prophecies, will also be sold separately for $6.99 or £6.49.
  • Eye of the North will cost $9.99 or £8.99.
  • Bonus Mission Pack will cost $5.99 or £5.49.
  • Players who already own Guild Wars Reforged on an ArenaNet account can log in on mobile and access the ad-free version without buying it again.
  • Players who start on Apple or Google accounts can optionally link an email address, which lets them play on PC with synced progress.

ArenaNet says the mobile version has an interface and controls adjusted for phones and tablets. According to the Google Play listing, Android pre-registration is already live. The iOS version had not appeared yet at the time of the announcement.

Guild Wars originally launched as a campaign-based online RPG with instanced co-op and PvP, and it has kept a dedicated player base long after Guild Wars 2 took over as ArenaNet’s main MMO. A mobile port is a pretty big shift for a game from that era, especially with full account syncing instead of a separate spin-off version.
