Guild Wars 3 Reveals Its Main Theme and Lead Composer

ArenaNet has shared the main theme for Guild Wars 3 and confirmed Kazuma Jinnouchi as the game’s lead composer. The MMO is still a long way out, with beta tests not expected until fall 2027, but the studio is already starting to talk about the sound of its next Tyria.

In an official post, ArenaNet also released a behind-the-scenes video featuring Jinnouchi and members of the development team discussing the direction for the soundtrack. The team says it’s building the music around four ideas: respecting the series’ legacy, focusing on memorable melodies, leaving room for quieter moments, and giving locations a strong sense of place.

That matters a bit more for Guild Wars 3 because the game is set 1,000 years before the original Guild Wars. ArenaNet is aiming for music that feels older and unfamiliar, while still carrying enough of the series’ identity that longtime players recognize it.

Jinnouchi, a BAFTA Games Awards nominee, is being joined by Asuka Ito on additional music and Nobuko Toda on orchestrations. Guild Wars 2 composer Maclaine Diemer is also returning, so this won’t be a clean break from the sound of the previous game.

The main theme is available now through ArenaNet’s reveal, alongside the behind-the-scenes video. It’s an early look, but for a game that’s still years from player testing, the studio is clearly starting to set the tone.
