Genshin Impact Version 7.0 opens Snezhnaya on August 12

Genshin Impact is heading to Snezhnaya with Version 7.0, “Everwinter Without Mercy,” launching August 12. HoYoverse says the update will finally open Teyvat’s seventh nation, a frozen northern region tied to the Fatui, train travel, and a new Archon Quest.

The update also adds two playable characters, Odette and Alyosha, along with new exploration tools, a third-person shooter mode, and limited-time events. Completing the new Archon Quest can reward up to 560 Primogems, and players will be able to earn Alyosha for free by progressing through it.

• Snezhnaya is connected by trains, including routes to Snezhnograd, where the Fatui headquarters is located.
• The Eye of Graeae helps with exploration by offering cold protection, train-calling, puzzle interactions, and Prime Ice Constructs.
• A new TPS mode uses firearms and attachments found throughout Snezhnaya.
• Stellar Swirl is a new Stellar Glimmer reaction triggered by combining Anemo and Cryo.
• The Traveler can gain Cryo power by interacting with Snezhnaya’s Statues of the Seven.

Odette is a 5-star Cryo Sword user and Fatui operative who also works as a ballerina. In combat, her kit focuses on Stellar Glimmer reactions, converting Superconduct and Cryo Swirl into Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl while boosting reaction damage for the party.

Alyosha is a 4-star Electro Polearm user who fights with his canine companion, Tugarin. His kit includes Stellar-Conduct damage buffs and healing for nearby active party members.

Version 7.0’s first Event Wish phase will feature Odette and Alyosha alongside a returning Arlecchino. The second phase brings back Flins and Ineffa.

HoYoverse is also lining up limited-time events built around train racing, target shooting, Domains, and helping a Jack Frost reach its destination. Event rewards include a chance to invite Diona for free. A separate Miliastra Wonderland event will add a summer spooky story and rewards, including a new head accessory.
