Roblox revenue rises to $1.5B in Q2, but bookings come in light
Roblox reported $1.5 billion in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 36% from the same period last year. Bookings reached $1.6 billion, an 8% increase, though the company said results were held back by weaker per-hour monetization among younger players in the US and Canada. The weak results led to the stock falling 26% today.
The company posted a net loss of $185 million for the quarter. Roblox said some of the bookings pressure came from players moving away from higher-monetizing viral games released in 2025 and toward newer or evergreen experiences that make less money per hour.
- Revenue was $1.5 billion, up 36% year over year.
- Bookings were $1.6 billion, up 8% year over year.
- Net loss was $185 million.
- Daily active users rose 10% to 123 million (but has been declining since Q3 2025). The massive Q3 jump was due to the viral game ‘Grow a Garden’.
- Total hours engaged rose 5% to 29 billion.

Roblox also pointed to changes in its Recommended for You algorithm. The company said it pushed more impressions toward games with stronger retention, even if those games monetize less in the short term. That hit younger users harder than expected.
There were still signs of growth across the platform. Daily active users climbed sharply in Japan and India, up 67% and 64% year over year, respectively. Players over 18 also continued to grow, with DAUs in that age group up 32% and hours up 27%.
Average bookings per daily active user fell 2% to $12.66. Monthly unique payers rose 15% to 27 million, while average bookings per payer came in at $19.25.
Roblox said more than half of its global daily active users had completed age verification by the end of Q2, following this year’s global age-check rollout. In the US and Australia, that figure is now above 70%.
The company also said its age-based accounts for minors, Roblox Kids for ages five to eight and Roblox Select for ages nine to 15, now include access to more than 30,000 games.
