Guild Wars 2 brings back Super Adventure Box with World 3 Test Zone 2

Guild Wars 2’s annual Super Adventure Box event is back, and this year’s big addition is World 3 Test Zone 2. ArenaNet had been teasing a new map for the retro platforming festival, and that’s what players got with today’s update.

According to the patch notes, the new zone opens after players finish the original World 3 test area, which has now been renamed Test Zone 1. Super Adventure Box runs until May 5.

The update also adds a new meta achievement and a batch of event rewards, including the Forged-Light weapon set, the Super Rainbow Cloud weapon set, the Plush Ess backpack, new guild decorations, homestead music, and Wizard’s Vault objectives tied to the festival.

Outside of SAB itself, the patch makes a few broader changes. ArenaNet says player damage has been reduced, with boss health also lowered for bosses added during and after End of Dragons. The same update adds a historical raid encounter vendor, and Push tournaments are set to start on May 9.

For anyone who hasn’t touched it before, Super Adventure Box is Guild Wars 2’s long-running April event that turns the MMO into a chunky, old-school platformer full of hidden rooms, baubles, and traps. The World 3 areas are still framed as test zones, so ArenaNet is treating them as unfinished content that may change later.
