Gloria Victis opens its first return playtest through April 27
Gloria Victis is playable again, at least for a limited time. The medieval MMORPG’s first playtest since its revival is live now and runs until the early hours of April 27.
This round is mainly for players who already signed up through Steam earlier this month, though the game’s Steam page still appears to let people request access. Players who did get in may also be able to bring others along, as the page currently shows an invite-friends option.
Gamigo, which is now publishing the game, says this is the first chance to boot up Gloria Victis since it went offline in 2023. The studio is bringing back the game’s core hooks rather than treating this as a clean slate: faction-based PvP, a player-driven economy, and grounded medieval combat are all part of the pitch for the current build.
If you were hoping to make early progress, that’s not the point here. Nothing from this test will carry over to launch, so it’s more of a check-in on the game’s current state than a head start.
For anyone who missed the original run, Gloria Victis built its audience around large-scale realm-vs-realm fighting and a more simulation-leaning take on medieval warfare. This test is the first real sign of how much of that survives the game’s comeback under new publishing.
