Gloria Victis adds guild warfare in State of War update

Gloria Victis has rolled out its State of War update, adding a new guild rivalry system to the PvP MMO. The update is built around organized guild battles, with attackers and defenders fighting over castles, fortifications, and flags.

Guilds can take part in up to two of these battles per day, either on offense or defense. Each fight can run as long as 30 minutes, giving groups time to scout a rival Guild Island, push through defenses, and try to capture the enemy flag before the timer runs out.

Defending guilds, meanwhile, need to hold their castle and stop the attackers from breaking through. Losing has a follow-up cost too, since defeated guilds can see their fortifications weakened for the next fight.

The update lands a few months after Gamigo relaunched Gloria Victis in June. The MMO had previously shut down in 2023 alongside original developer Black Eye Games, making its return fairly unusual for the genre. State of War is the first major sign of post-relaunch support aimed squarely at the game’s large-scale PvP crowd.
