Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.55 Adds North Horn, Final Phantom Weapon Upgrades, and More
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.55 is live, bringing the next major chunk of Dawntrail side content to the game. The headline addition is Occult Crescent: North Horn, a new field area for level 100 players with large-scale battles, new phantom jobs, elemental weaknesses, and the Forked Tower: Magic raid content.
Square Enix also added the final stage of the Phantom Weapons questline, new Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures, and allied society capstone quests. The full breakdown is available in the official patch notes.
- Occult Crescent: North Horn is open to level 100 Disciples of War or Magic with an average item level of 690 or higher.
- The Occult Crescent knowledge level cap has been raised from 20 to 40.
- New phantom jobs have been added, including Phantom Black Mage and Phantom Blue Mage.
- The Forked Tower: Magic supports up to 48 players, while Forked Tower: Magic (Extreme) requires alliance groups of 12 to 48 players.
- Phantom Weapons can now be enhanced to their maximum strength through the new questline starting with “Under No Illusion.”
- Crystalline Conflict Season 20 has ended, and Season 21 has begun.
North Horn continues the Occult Crescent structure from earlier Dawntrail patches. Players explore the zone, earn knowledge, level phantom jobs, join FATEs and critical encounters, and work toward access to the Forked Tower. The Extreme version adds stricter resurrection limits and only allows job and phantom job changes at the start of the instance.
Patch 7.55 also includes new furnishings, orchestrion rolls, emotes, a hairstyle based on a design contest entry, mounts, minions, accessories, facewear, achievements, and titles. On the balance side, PvP jobs received several adjustments across Crystalline Conflict and Frontline, including changes for Paladin, Dark Knight, Dragoon, Ninja, Machinist, Pictomancer, White Mage, Monk, Samurai, and Viper.
Square Enix is also opening multiple field instances for Heritage Found and the phantom village to help with launch-day congestion. The extra Auxesia instances added in Patch 7.51 are being removed.
