Final Fantasy XI brings back Nomad Moogle Bonanza ticket sales through May 18

Final Fantasy XI has started another round of the Nomad Moogle Bonanza, the MMO’s recurring in-game lottery event. Players can now buy marbles from nomad moogles and try their luck at winning prizes, with ticket sales running through May 18.

The setup is the same as past Bonanza events. You buy marbles with in-game currency, then wait for the winning numbers to be announced later. If your number matches, you can trade the marble in for one of the event rewards. It’s basically FFXI’s official excuse to do a little gambling in Vana’diel, separate from Corsair’s usual dice-roll chaos.

Square Enix runs these Bonanza events on and off as a way to hand out rare or useful items, and they’re usually worth checking if you’re still active in the game. The big draw is the prize pool, not any new gameplay system, so this is mostly a familiar event returning rather than a major update.

If you’re playing regularly, the main thing to know is simple: grab your marbles before the sales window closes on May 18, then keep an eye out for the drawing and redemption dates after that.
