Conan Exiles is getting another age-rating pass because of its nudity settings
Funcom is putting Conan Exiles through another age-rating review, and the reason is the game’s nudity options. The survival sandbox has let players adjust character endowment since its early access launch in 2017, but that feature has caused rating issues in some regions before, and it’s apparently doing so again.
The news comes as part of Funcom’s ongoing handling of regional compliance for the game. Conan Exiles has long had different nudity settings depending on platform and territory, with full nudity available in some places and restricted or disabled in others. If you’ve played on console, you’ve probably already seen those limits firsthand.
This isn’t a new mechanic or content drop so much as another reminder that Conan Exiles still has to navigate ratings boards years after release. That’s especially relevant for a game built around player-created characters, online servers, and a pretty wide range of customization options.
Conan Exiles first launched in early access on PC in 2017 before coming to consoles later. It’s a survival game set in the Conan universe, with the usual loop of gathering resources, building bases, crafting gear, and trying not to get eaten or murdered by other players.
For now, there’s no sign of a broader gameplay change tied to this latest rating pass. The main takeaway is that Funcom is once again dealing with how Conan Exiles’ nudity features are classified, which could affect how those settings are handled in specific regions.
