FFXIV Patch 7.41 is live with the next Phantom Weapon step and a new Cosmic Exploration planet
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 7.41 is now live following a six-hour maintenance. It’s a smaller update, but a meaningful one if you’re in the middle of long-term progression, adding the next step for the game’s current endgame weapon grind and expanding the crafting-focused Cosmic Exploration activity.
On the combat side, Patch 7.41 advances the Phantom Weapon, the Occult Crescent endgame weapon series. This is the second step (with the expectation there’s at least one more to come), and it’s aimed at players looking to push their weapons forward for raids or general endgame power.
Crafters and gatherers also get a fresh destination in Cosmic Exploration: a new planet called Oizys. Like prior Cosmic Exploration stages, progression is tracked per server, with special missions and a public display for top contributors via hologram-style name and visual effects. Patch 7.41 also adds a new Artifact system tied to exploration and introduces a new step for upgrading Enhanced Cosmic Tools.
Square Enix also added new items, largely as Cosmic Exploration rewards. The full patch notes have the complete list.
As for what’s next, the post notes that previously teased content like the next Variant Dungeon and the Hildibrand continuation are expected with Patch 7.45, which is being loosely pegged for late February or early March.
