EverQuest’s Lethar TLP Server Starts at The Serpent’s Spine on August 26

EverQuest’s next Time-Locked Progression server, Lethar, opens on August 26 with a much later starting point than usual. Instead of beginning with classic EverQuest and moving forward from there, Lethar skips the first ten expansions and launches with The Serpent’s Spine.

Darkpaw is also using Lethar to roll out a new Personal Loot system for group encounters, giving players a way to earn bonus loot directly rather than relying only on shared rolls. According to the official FAQ, Lethar will then unlock The Buried Sea 12 weeks after launch, with every expansion after that arriving on an eight-week schedule.

That faster cadence gives the server a clear long-term track. Darkpaw says the current expansion, Shattering of Ro, is scheduled to unlock on Lethar in October 2029, assuming the cadence stays as planned.

The Legacy Characters system is also coming back for this server. Once a character on the account reaches the max level for the current era, other characters on that same account get a 10% experience bonus. The bonus can stack up to 100%, which means players with several capped TLP characters can speed up alts quite a bit.

Lethar is aimed less at players who want another slow classic run and more at those who want to jump into a later-era EverQuest progression server with faster expansion movement. The Serpent’s Spine is a notable starting point too, since that expansion turns 20 this September.
