Marvel Rivals Season 9 Adds Jubilee, Reworks Team-Ups on July 10

Marvel Rivals Season 9, The Mystery of Thebes, launches July 10 with Jubilee joining the roster as a new Strategist. NetEase Games and Marvel Games also confirmed a broad Team-Up system overhaul, a full Black Widow rework, a new Convoy map, and a new mode tied to Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Jubilee’s kit is built around energy plasmoids that can heal allies while damaging and blinding enemies. Her Ultimate sends out a large fireworks-style attack across the battlefield, which fits the character pretty directly without needing much translation.

The biggest gameplay change sounds like the Team-Up update. Every hero will now have two independent Team-Up Ability loadouts, and each loadout will include both a Base Effect and an Enhanced Effect. NetEase says some older Team-Ups are also returning, including Metallic Chaos. Full balance details are expected in the Season 9 patch notes.

Black Widow is getting a full combat loop rework as part of the same season. The announcement doesn’t break down every change yet, but it frames the update as a major reset for how she plays rather than a simple numbers pass.

The new Convoy map, Thebes, goes live after the July 23 update. Then, on July 30, Marvel Rivals adds Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Age of Ultron, a new mode that sends players into Avengers Tower and Ultron’s Data Space to fight Ultron and his mechanical army.

The Hood is also confirmed for Season 9.5 in August, though NetEase hasn’t shared a specific date or full kit details yet. Outside the game itself, the Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals will take place in Los Angeles from July 29 to August 1.
