EverQuest’s 2026 Expansion Is Favors of Fortune, With Pre-Orders Opening October 6

EverQuest’s next expansion has a name: Favors of Fortune. Daybreak confirmed the 2026 expansion in its September producer’s letter, with beta and pre-orders set to begin on October 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

The studio is holding back most of the gameplay details for now. A developer livestream is planned for November 17, 2026, where players can expect a closer look at what Favors of Fortune actually adds.

The setup picks up after the gods’ recent war, with Mithaniel Marr and Rallos Zek trying to hold together a truce while something goes wrong across the lesser planes. The letter frames the expansion around luck turning rotten, with odds, gambles, and victories no longer behaving the way anyone expects. Scorn is also back, according to the teaser.

Outside the expansion reveal, the producer’s letter recaps several live game changes. Hero’s Journey quest items now drop for the whole group in some cases, Progression Server players can reach the Bazaar early through Translocator Cogsley in the Commonlands before Shadows of Luclin unlocks, and the team has made adjustments to Resource Hunter spawns.

There’s also been class tuning for Enchanters, Magicians, Shadow Knights, Shamans, and Rogues, along with new Bazaar min/max stat filters, an Expansion dropdown for Find Item and Bazaar Search, and fixes aimed at making helms and robes display more reliably on original character models.

Daybreak also noted that Extra Life fundraising is underway, with a $115,000 goal and more than $55,000 raised at the time of the letter. Current and upcoming seasonal beats include Fall Fun, Festival of Shadows, Extra Life Bonus Week, Feast of Giving, Raid Raid Raid, and Frostfell.

Two other quality-of-life features are still in the works: Account-to-Account transfers and multi-select parcel actions in bags. No release timing was given for either.
