Guild Wars 2 Adds Nexus of Eternity Challenge Modes and No-Mount Bonus Event

Guild Wars 2’s September 29, 2026 update adds new Challenge Modes for Nexus of Eternity content, alongside a limited-time Dismount Rush event that pushes players to leave their mounts parked in Central Tyria and the Heart of Maguuma.

Dismount Rush gives players stacking magic find and experience boosts for completing events without using mounts in those regions. At three stacks, players can also earn extra daily rewards. ArenaNet says mount use in Heart of Thorns areas has been a common point of feedback ahead of the first Hall of Monuments update later this year, and this event is being used as a test for reducing mount reliance in older maps.

Players who want a cleaner way to opt out can pick up a Dismounting Potion in Hooligan’s Route in Lion’s Arch. ArenaNet hasn’t given a specific end date for the event, only saying it’s available for a limited time.

  • The Nexus of Eternity raid now has a Challenge Mode through its challenge mote, though a same-day hotfix was needed to properly enable it.
  • The Nexus of Eternity Convergence Challenge Mode can be selected after entering the instance and disturbing Vloxx’s Visage.
  • The Solitary Throne fractal Challenge Mode unlocks after clearing the fractal at tier 4 and accepting the harbinger’s challenge.
  • A hotfix also addressed several Vloxx phase and timer bugs tied to the new Challenge Mode content.

The same update includes a broad set of fixes across open-world content, fractals, raids, Convergences, WvW, personal story missions, and profession balance. ArenaNet called out adjustments for the Lonely Tyrant fractal, clarifications for several raid mechanics, and PvP/WvW tuning for multiple professions, including Elementalist and Engineer.

Separately, ArenaNet noted a shader-related visual issue introduced with the patch and prepared a hotfix to roll back the affected rendering changes.
