EverQuest outlines May progression server plans as EQ2 players wait on Census API fix
Daybreak has shared a few of the next big items on the way for EverQuest, including a new level-skip consumable in May and two progression servers planned for 2026. According to the official post, Heroic Experience Draughts are coming in May and will boost a character to a set level depending on the draught used, but without the extra gear, spells, items, or AAs that come with a full Heroic Character.
The same producer letter also confirms two time-limited progression servers. Frostreaver opens May 27 and will use a ruleset voted on by players. Lethar is slated for later this year and will test a personal loot system that scales rewards based on group size. Daybreak says more details, along with a preview on the test server, are still on the way.
The letter also briefly teases EverQuest’s next expansion. The setup involves Mithaniel Marr and Rallos Zek trying to negotiate peace before things go sideways in Marr, which is about as much as Daybreak is saying for now.
On the EverQuest II side, players are still dealing with the long outage of the Census API used by community sites such as EQ2U. The API has reportedly been offline since February. In a post on the EQ2 forums, the game’s community manager said one of the affected databases is back up, but more database work is still needed for redundancy, and the data importer is being rewritten.
So for now, EverQuest has firm dates for at least one new server and a clearer idea of its next catch-up option, while EverQuest II players are still waiting for a full restoration of tools that power character tracking sites.
