Elder Scrolls Online Update 49 is now live on every platform
The Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 49 is now live, and this is the first time the base-game patch has launched across all platforms at once. The update brings a big Dragonknight refresh, a rework of the Two-Handed skill line, several quality-of-life changes, and four older DLC packs folded into the base game.
The headline gameplay change is the Dragonknight class refresh. ZeniMax updated the class’s ability animations, sounds, and visual effects, following a testing period. Two-Handed also gets a major pass in the same update, aimed at reshaping how that weapon line plays.
On the quality-of-life side, Update 49 adds free skill and attribute respecs directly from the in-game UI, so you can swap builds without paying. Outfit slots are now account-wide, and bag and bank upgrade costs have been reduced. There’s also a new option to hide the appearance of some gear slots.
Mounts are getting some changes too. Update 49 adds mounts that can be bought for gold from stablemasters, including a new mount tied to one of the newly added stablemasters. Others will be sold by stablemasters in locations that match the type of mount.
Content-wise, Imperial City, Orsinium, Dark Brotherhood, and Thieves Guild are now integrated into the base game. If you didn’t already own them, they’ll show up in the Collections menu under Stories.
According to the official post, Update 49 also lays groundwork for upcoming features tied to “Season Zero,” which is set to start April 2. Ahead of that, the Gold Coast Bazaar reward feature arrives March 25, the Tamriel Tomes reward track system is part of Season Zero, and The Night Market is scheduled for April 29.
